Frequently asked questions
What is vernix?
It is a white, greasy coating that protects your baby’s skin from the amniotic fluid. Most of it disappears by the time of birth.
When is the glucose tolerance test done?
It is usually done between weeks 24 and 28 to check for gestational diabetes; if you have risk factors, your doctor may recommend it earlier.
