Painless Abortion

Painless abortion depends primarily on the type of anesthesia used.

The abortion procedure is among those that can frighten and psychologically affect women.

For this reason, except where medically necessary, we strongly prefer that patients be asleep during the procedure, for their comfort and ease.

We perform our abortion procedures using sedation anesthesia, allowing the patient to sleep through the process.

For pregnancies between 6 and 9 weeks, once the procedure is complete, the anesthesiologist may administer minimal doses of hospital-only narcotic analgesics through the IV line.

The purpose of these strong pain relievers is to allow the patient to wake up post-operatively without pain and comfortably return to normal life.

We use every resource available to us with the patient's comfort in mind.

You can ask us anything you would like to know about the painless abortion procedure.
